:: Tribal Welfare Department - Government Of Andhra Pradesh ::

Free education is being provided to the tribals from Primary to PG. Over 65% of the Tribal Welfare Budget has been allotted to Education.

Apart from the schools run by School Education Department, the Tribal Welfare Department is running -

  • I) 378 - Ashram Schools (3rd - 10th classes including Hostel facility)
  • II) 19 - Pre-Matric Hostels (Boarding for ST students studying other Management Schools)
  • III) 161 - Post-Matric Hostels (Boarding for ST Students from Inter)
  • IV) 1933 - Primary Schools (1st - 2nd classes)
  • V) 190 - Gurukulam Schools (1st class - Intermediate including Hostel facility)

Over 2.05 lakhs students are provided boarding & lodging facilities in the above Tribal Welfare Educational Institutions.

Monitoring of Student's attendance through online portal:

  • I)Student's attendance is being monitored by the Tribal Welfare Department through the Jnanabhumi portal http://jnanabhumi.ap.gov.in
  • II)Diet charges are paid on the basis of online attendance & online sanction of bills.
  • III)Timely monitoring & distribution of notebooks, textbooks, plates & glasses, trunk boxes, uniforms, carpets, bed sheets, cosmetic charges, and details of inspections are being monitored online.
  • IV) Students' medical check-ups & health status and academic performance are also being monitored online regularly.

Jagananna Vidya Kanuka Kit (JVK Kit):

  • I)Government is providing Student kits under Jagananna Vidya Kanuka Kit for 1st to 10th class students.
  • II)Kit consisting of Uniform cloth - 3 pairs, Text Books, Set of Notebooks, 1 pair shoe, 2 pairs of socks, 1 School bag, 1 Belt & 3 Masks.

Manabadi Nadu-Nedu:

  • I)Mana Badi Nadu Nedu is to strengthen the infrastructure and transform the existing infrastructure of the schools in the mission mode in a phased manner.
  • II)The below 9 infrastructure components have been covered under this program. (I) Toilets with running water (ii) Drinking water supply (iii) Major and minor repairs (iv) Electrification with fans and tube lights (v) Furniture for students and staff (vi) Green chalkboards (vii) Painting to schools (viii) English labs and (ix) Compound walls.
  • III)474 (352+122) Tribal welfare schools (TW and APREIS) were covered under Phase-I and the remaining schools will be covered under Nadu-Nedu Phase - II.


    Pre Matric Scholarships:


  • I)Financial assistance of Rs. 15,000 (Rs.14, 000 to Mother's Account or recognized guardian and Rs. 1000/- to District Toilet Maintenance Fund (DTMF) under the control of District Collector) per annum.

    Post-Matric Scholarships:

    Jagananna Vasathi Deevena (MTF):

  • I)As per Go.Ms.No.115, dated: 30.11.2019 to provide Rs. 10,000/- to ITI students, Rs. 15,000/- per person to Polytechnic students, and Rs. 20,000/- per person for other Degree and above courses per year to every eligible student for food and hostel expenses.
  • II)Jagananna Vasathi Deevena shall be credited into the respective account of the mother of the eligible student.

    Jagananna Vidya Deevena (RTF) :

  • I)As per Go.Ms.No.115 dated: 30.11.2019 provide complete fee reimbursement to every eligible student. Full fees i.e. Tuition Fees, Special Fees, Other Fees & Exam Fees as fixed by the AFRC (Admission & Fee regulation Committee) & the respective Universities will decide the fee structure for the courses which do not fall under Technical courses. The full fee shall be credited to the student's mother's accounts (amended as per Go.Ms.No.28) on behalf of the students.
